BLC WORKS is the creative works of Barbara Lindsay Carlson.

A native Chicagoan, Barbara has always had a love for art. As a trained artist she gets lost in color, texture, form and the feeling a piece can create.

She draws inspiration from nature and the environments that surround her. Currently rooted in Minneapolis, MN, Barbara has found her artistic home, she continues to channel her passion into crafting beautiful pieces that effortlessly infuse soul into any space.

The artist has a deep connection to serene landscapes and nature that brings her back to her midwestern roots. She has a affinity for painting midwestern landscapes, four legged animals and abstract pieces.

Growing up near Lake Michigan, she developed a deep love for water, which drew her to Minnesota with its many lakes. She uses a water reduction technique in nearly all her paintings. She applies many layers of paint, creating various colors and textures, resulting in a dimensional effect. She uses water to thin and shape the paint on her canvases, allowing layers and colors to show through.
